John McLaurin, Pastor
At the heart of ministry is the care and love of the fellowship. For our pastor John McLaurin – the relationship with the congregation and the resulting care of the flock is the top priority. He is quoted as saying “People will forgive pastors for all kinds of failures but they have a hard time forgiving us when we don’t love them”. John’s life in the business world was great preparation for ministry and particularly at a church with the people diversity and growth we have witnessed at DPC. He was formerly CEO of companies in the USA and England and was instrumental in the development of several domestic interest. Mary and John have been married 17 years and he began serving as pastor of DPC in 2008. John was called to ministry as a Commission Ruling Elder and completed his studies at Dubuque Theological Seminary. He has served as Moderator (2014) and Chair of Council (2015) of the Central Florida Presbytery and on committees and commissions of the presbytery.
Jean Meredith, Interim Pastor
Jean Meredith served as a Commissioned Ruling Elder at Port Orange Presbyterian Church for the past six years, overseeing adult ministries and pastoral care. Jean retired from that position in June. Before Port Orange Presbyterian Church, Gary and Jean were active members of Christ Presbyterian Church in Ormond Beach, where they live. Jean completed her seminary studies at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA and Dubuque Theological Seminary. Before stepping into ministry Jean was an elementary school teacher in the Volusia County Schools for thirty years. Gary is an administrator at Halifax Health Center.
Gary and Jean have two daughters. Kacie is in her third year of teaching elementary school in Volusia County. Heather and her husband, Kevin, are both engineers and live in Dayton, Ohio. They are expecting their first child in August! Gary and Jean also have a sweet golden retriever named Montana.
Amy Wagner, Music Director
Amy came to D.P.C. in May of 2009 as Music Director. Her talents as a vocalist, instrumentalists on organ and piano, combined with her leadership of the DPC choir, has been a great blessing to the family of fellowship.
Christina June, Secretary
Christina June joined the Deltona Presbyterian team in April 2017. She was born and raised in Deltona. She comes from a diverse background in Sales and Marketing and holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management. Christina and her husband Nathaniel have two children named Kameron and Kennedy.
