At the heart of ministry is the care and love of the fellowship. For our pastor John McLaurin – the relationship with the congregation and the resulting care of the flock is the top priority. He is quoted as saying “People will forgive pastors for all kinds of failures but they have a hard time forgiving us when we don’t love them”. John’s life in the business world was great preparation for ministry and particularly at a church with the people diversity and growth we have witnessed at DPC. He was formerly CEO of companies in the USA and England and was instrumental in the development of several domestic interest. Mary and John have been married 17 years and he began serving as pastor of DPC in 2008. John was called to ministry as a Commission Ruling Elder and completed his studies at Dubuque Theological Seminary. He has served as Moderator (2014) and Chair of Council (2015) of the Central Florida Presbytery and on committees and commissions of the presbytery.
